Bone Broth--How to Make it and Why You Should be Drinking it!
It seems everyone is talking about bone broth and its magical powers. Bone broth supports gut health and reduces inflammation--two awesome side effects of eating Paleo in general--but its benefits don't end there.
While bone broth is becoming more readily available in stores--The Joyful Food Co. even makes our own with grass-fed beef bones--it is more economical to make your own. There are many recipes for bone broth and tutorials available online, but the truth is, you don't have to follow a recipe to the letter or own fancy kitchen equipment (I use a crock pot!) to get delicious and healthy bone broth.
While the recipes are great starting points, there are really only a few things you need to know before you get started. When choosing bones to use, get the highest quality possible (organic/pastured/free-range).
Whether you drink a mug of bone broth daily, use it in recipes, or simply freeze it to drink when you feel a cold coming on, this nutrient-rich "liquid gold" is the perfect addition to any diet!
